.:About Michelle:.
Well, let’s see – who is Michelle?
I was born in 1980 in Germany and I am living in the Rhine area, right next to the famous Loreley rock, which is a very inspiring place to be.
I’ve been painting and drawing for all of my life like most children, I guess, but the first time that I have shown some kind of talent for it must have been at about the age of 14 when I started to copy the covers of my Dragonlance novels. I have drawn ever since that day – after copying the covers of quite any fantasy book on my shelves, I tried my hand on some more original stuff. Some ink drawings of the characters of my rpg group, some watercolor drawings of the same subject and afterwards the first oil paintings. I really love oil paint, btw. but me and turpentine just don’t get along well. I tried pastel chalk and oil pastels, but oil paint is still the one that I prefer over the others.
In the end, the whole thing led me to choosing arts as one of my two main subjects at school and to the study of history of arts and archaeology after that.
It wasn’t the right choice for me and I quit university soon. I love arts, I love history but I didn’t want to work in a museum or something like that. I wanted to do something creative but didn’t have the courage to study arts itself.
I guess it was a good thing that 3D came into my life by accident. I didn’t really expect to earn money with it – all that I wanted was a couple of nice and quick avatars for my rpg forum and I enjoyed building images and learning more about the whole thing.
One day I started to work on my own textures – some fantasy clothing stuff at that time. Nothing special but it was a start. Soon that wasn’t enough anymore and I moved on to human skin textures, later to custom morphing and then to modeling with hair as my favorite subject.
And now, doing Poser add on models has become my main source of income and it’s something that surprises people a lot. Most people can’t really believe that you can earn money with that, even if they buy Poser stuff themselves. But – someone has to build the models that are available on the market, right?
I still enjoy doing images, but the time for it has become short and I rarely touch the traditional colors and canvas or paper anymore, as I like to spend my scarce free time with my most important hobby – writing stories, novels and rpg related world building.
Besides that, I’m a fulltime Chihuahua mommy that likes to read, listening to music or just watching a nice movie from time to time.
There’s not much more to say.;-)
